Like every one at the Odd Puppet Collective, Pia wears many different hats. She currently is a Ph.D. student in Cultural Studies at Queen's University where she is developing a Poetics of Puppetry with an emphasis on the cognitive psychology and neuroscience of perception of animate and inanimate objects.
She is interested in exploring the world of storytelling with puppets and objects without words that activate the imagination of the audience in ways that are specific to this art form. For her puppetry practice is the perfect antidote for the sometimes excessive braininess of the academy.
Pia curates puppetry related links at Puppetry and Perception. She also tells stories with photos here. You can view her profile at Academia Edu.
